What hardware comes with the PE-ECU-1 engine package and what
additional parts will I need to purchase?
The PE-ECU-1 system comes with the following:
- Engine ECU
- Unterminated wire harness
- Copy of the tuning software
- Digital copy of the User's Manual
- Crank Trigger Wheel
You will need to purchase the following depending of your application:
- Crank trigger sensor (required)
- Additional sensors including but not limited to, MAP, throttle position, air temperature
and coolant temperature sensors
- Connectors to wire the sensors, injectors and coils into the harness
- Relays for controlling power to the ECU, the fuel pump and other accessories
- Wire, solder and shrink wrap to terminate the harness
- Fuel injection hardware such as fuel injectors, pump and regulator
- Ignition coils - You DO NOT need to purchase separate ignition igniters provided
that you use coils with adequate resistance

What
kind of coils can I use?
The internal coil drivers in the PE-ECU-1 system can be used to drive up
to 2 coils with a resistance greater than or equal to 2 ohms. Ignitions coils that have
worked well in the past include:
- Wasted Spark - Accel Coils, Part Number 140403 (kits w/ 2 coils)
- Distribution ignition - Bosch Coil, Part Number F00E140281
In addition to using one of the above mentioned coils, aftermarket
computerized systems such as those available from Jacobs of MSD can also be controlled by
Performance Electronics, Ltd. hardware. Coil on plug ignition can be used with 4-cylinder
applications depending on the resistance. See the User's Manual for details. |

How
do I order a system?
The easiest way to start the process is to send an email to info@pe-ltd.com containing the following information:
- Engine cylinders and type (2 or 4 stroke)
- Engine displacement
- Injector resistance
- Coil type and resistance
- Required crank pickup wheel size
- What items specifically you want to order
Based on this information, Performance Electronics, Ltd. can begin to
process the order. We will contact you with the total price including shipping and
handling.
